In addition you are recommended to insure your hives in case your colonies are lost to disease which sometimes happens even in the best managed apiaries. This is done through a special scheme designed exclusively for beekeepers. |
If you are a novice then training courses are available and free regular hands-on sessions are held at the Association Apiary at Brackenhurst College, Southwell. |

You may buy secondhand equipment at our Annual Auction or new equipment from the manufacturers. |

Once you have paid your subscription you are covered for insurance purposes (Yes, things do go wrong even in beekeeping) up to £500,000. |
